Melody Yi, M.A. in Educational Psychology
Autism Specialist/Psychologist

Melody Yi holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology and Social Behavior, a Masters of Arts (M.A.) degree in Educational Psychology, an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology, and a Pupil Personnel Services (P.P.S.) in School Psychology.

In 2003, Ms. Yi began her career as an applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapist, providing one-to-one services to children who have autism, in both home and school settings. She also worked as a social skills therapist, co-leading structured activities for children with severe behavioral problems (e.g., Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Autism, ADHD). Ms. Yi continued to work with students with special needs, as a school psychologist in the public school system in 2005. Her educational and professional experiences have enabled her to work with students of diverse backgrounds (e.g., ability levels, language differences, age/grade levels).

Ms. Yi joined Newport-Mesa Unified School District in 2007 as an autism specialist. With the ever changing field of education, she wishes to further develop the practices which will positively impact the future of education. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education.
