Vocational Education classes are offered to assist adults in career development, computer literacy, new computer
applications, and professional office skills. A moderate materials fee is required for each vocational education class.

Intro to Computers I*: You will learn: desktop publishing tools; internet browsing; Outlook 2000 (an e-mail
program that offers contact, calendar, and task options); physical and logical computer components; Windows 2000 (programs and
file management); Word 2000 (a program used to create and edit letters, simple reports, and lists).
Intro to Computers II*: Expand your basic knowledge of: Windows 2000; Access 2000 (a program used to create
tables, forms, reports, and queries); Excel 2000 (a program used to create and edit worksheets, post an online workbook, and
create an impact with charts); Power Point 2000 (a program used to create and deliver a presentation by using animation,
clipart, and transitions).
Keyboarding: Learn to type accurately and increase your speed using the Mavis Beacon typing program. Learn the
correct format for letters, memos, and tables. Learn to transcribe edited letters and decipher hand-written letters.
Microsoft Word 2000: Learn to create and edit business letters, memos, and press releases. Learn to use
professional writing and editing tools. Create reports, lists, letterhead, and envelopes. Learn to format margins and
tabs. Use mail merge to create letters and envelopes. Make tables using advanced techniques. Learn the uses of desktop
publishing tools and integration between the internet, Word, and Excel.
Microsoft Excel 2000: Learn the basics of creating and editing a simple worksheet. Then expand using powerful
features and automated tools. Create charts and multiple-sheet workbooks. Learn how to use functions, advanced formatting
techniques, and databases.
Microsoft PowerPoint 2000: Learn to create and deliver a presentation, use animations, clipart, and
transitions. Learn drawing, organization, and presentation tools. Learn integration with other programs; create an online
presentation and present on the road.
Microsoft Access 2000: Learn to enter data and create tables, forms, and reports. Learn about queries and
relationships, and hyperlinks. Customize forms and use advanced controls, sub-forms, and calculated controls. Learn to
import data and customize reports, integration with Word and Excel.
Clerical Reception: This course will expose you to entry-level office work. You will complete a variety
of jobs from the simple task of addressing envelopes to more challenging tasks such as scheduling airline and hotel
reservations. You will also have a review of business English.
Office Occupations: This course will expose you to basic occupational survival skills including interpersonal
skills and professional behaviors necessary for success in the work place.
