Welcome to Rea Elementary School

Rea Elementary School educates students in grades four through six, with approximately 750 students enrolled. Rea Elementary School is known for its technology that enables our diverse learners to utilize a variety of media to enhance the curriculum at each student’s academic level. Rea Elementary is committed to academic excellence, active parent involvement, and providing a nurturing learning environment that promotes active exploration.

With literacy as our top priority, your child will be provided the opportunity to achieve at their maximum academic potential. Our distinguished faculty uses a variety of teaching and learning strategies that are designed to increase student engagement. This varied instruction includes integrating learning experiences, addressing students’ questions and focusing on real-life issues to develop higher level thinking skills. It is our goal that all students develop skills not only access, but master the California State content standards. Additionally, we want our students to be contributing members in our community.

We realize that learning not only takes place at school but also at home. Our home-school partnership with parents and staff forms a strong connection to provide the best possible education for all students. We encourage you to get involved in all of the positive activities that Rea Elementary School offers. Some opportunities include: volunteering in your child’s classroom, chaperoning a field trip, attending Family Reading Nights and participating in PTA events. We pride ourselves in our partnership with parents; it is this bond that enables students to meet our high academic and behavioral expectations.

The students at Rea Elementary have excellent attendance and succeed at their maximum potential in all academic areas because they enjoy working in their classrooms. They feel safe in their learning community, encouraged by their peers and teacher, as well as, motivated to extend their learning. Our teachers regularly adjust instruction to provide access that both supports and challenges each child’s individual learning needs.

We believe in providing a world-class education for all students. Our philosophy of developing the whole child includes extracurricular activities. Project Success, The Boys and Girls Club and Save our Youth (SOY) have been instrumental in strengthening our students academically and socially. Rea Elementary School enjoys a reputation of excellence in the competitive sport of soccer. We have one of the finest Elementary School intramural soccer teams in the District. Our students’ commitment to practice and love of the sport has brought us six consecutive championships.
