The department of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction is
responsible for managing and supervising the instructional program in
grades 7-12. Twice each year, new course adoptions and textbooks are
submitted to this office for Board approval.
Additionally, this department is responsible for coordinating the
efforts of the secondary curriculum committees, development and
implementation of special and/or innovative programs and projects, and
serve as a resource for community and school inquiries regarding
secondary curriculum and instruction.
Services offered
- Grade 8 Certificates of Promotion
- Order DMV supplies for the 9-12 sites
- Order State adopted, Board of Education approved Science, Math
and Language Arts workbooks each year for the term of the adoption
cycle.
- Supply forms needed for Community Service Program Specialists at
each 9-12 site.
- Facilitate Course of Study and Textbook submissions for Board of
Education agenda.
- Facilitate adoption of core subject textbooks for grades 6-8
during adoption cycle.
- Facilitate approval of core subject textbooks for grades 6-8 by
Board of Education.
- Facilitate Secondary Counselors’ Meetings.
- Coordinate Curriculum Committee Meetings.
